I just got a new iPhone / iPod Touch, can I keep using the same OpenFeint account?


Of course you can! Depending on your situation, please follow the instructions below to migrate your account from one device to another.

The easiest way to access these menus is through the OpenFeint Free Game Of The Day app available in the App Store.

Do you still have access to your old device?

Yes, I still have my old device handy.

If you have access to your old device, the first thing you want to do is secure your account with an email and password.  This can be found in OpenFeint settings under "Enable Account Retrieval".  This process allows you to log into your OpenFeint account from any device.

After you've done this, on the new device press “I already have an account” in the OpenFeint startup screen and enter the credentials you just provided on your old device.  Or, if you've already created an account on the new device:

  1. Go to the settings menu
  2. Select "Switch Account"
  3. Then "Log in as a different user"

No, I don't have access to my old device.

Don’t have access to your old device?  If you’ve secured your account, you can recover it via the “Switch Accounts” function in OpenFeint.  If you never secured your account, please use the contact form located here.  Note that we’ll need your new device id, a 40-character unique identifier (NOT your serial number), in order to assist you further.  How do I find this?
